Brazilian songs — A Birchola Trio blends enchanting bossa nova and samba, offering a unique, personal take on Brazilian classics, led by Agathe's vocals.
Agathe Francopoulo, Francesco Cosentini and Nils Wekstein, on vocals, guitar and percussion respectively, explore a carefully selected repertoire of Brazilian songs ranging from bossa nova and popular samba to the new wave of MPB (musica popular brasileira). The trio brings together three musicians with distinctive backgrounds: a guitarist specializing in Italian and Roma music, an Afro-Cuban percussion specialist and a singer with a lifelong passion for Brazil. Guided by Agathe's powerful, ethereal voice, they bring their own personal arrangements and several original compositions to the genre, moving from the most delicate saudade to the infectious rhythms that make Brazilian music so rich.
