Workshop open to adults and teenagers aged 16 and over, of all skill levels.
Beginners will be introduced to sewing by making simple accessories or clothing for adults or children. They will discover how to use a sewing machine and an overlocker and learn every step, from the pattern to the finished piece (laying the pattern on the fabric, cutting, sewing, finishing). More advanced participants should bring their own pattern and the supplies needed for their project and will improve their techniques according to their needs (setting in sleeves, making welt pockets, sewing a fly, finishing, etc.). Materials to bring: a pattern and the supplies needed to make it (fabric, fastener, buttons, matching thread), different types of zippers (closed-end, invisible) for practicing zipper installation, and 1 pair of fabric scissors. Magazines are available at the workshop (Fibre Mood, Ottobre, Maison Victor).
