During this introductory workshop, you will discover traditional techniques for creating lacquer decoration: applying gold leaf, aventurine effects, masking techniques, relief work, and more.
You will also learn the basics of composition using motifs that you can trace, reproduce, or modify according to your inspiration. A prepared panel will be provided at the beginning of the workshop. At the end of the week, you will leave with your own creation, and we hope this introduction will inspire you to delve even deeper into the wonderful world of lacquer. Patience and attention to detail will be the watchwords of this workshop! Materials participants should bring: tracing paper, colored pencils, clean glass jars, a utility knife/scalpel, newspaper, and a few paintbrushes to purchase, whose details will be sent to you before the workshop.
