Meet Nadia Améziane, a lecturer-researcher specializing in marine biology and a professor at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN).
Marine biodiversity has led to many major discoveries that have advanced our understanding of life. At every level—from molecules and ecosystems to the biology and behavior of organisms—it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for research and innovation. Ocean wildlife and ecosystems have much to teach us! Nadia Améziane invites us to explore this fascinating world and discover how the remarkable adaptations of marine organisms are opening up new avenues of research in biology and bioinspiration. She will also discuss the role of Nature-based solutions—innovative approaches that draw on how ecosystems function to address environmental challenges while preserving biodiversity. This is an opportunity to discover how we can learn from marine ecosystems without overexploiting them and to understand why humanity’s future is closely linked to that of the ocean. About Nadia Améziane Nadia Améziane is a lecturer-researcher specializing in marine biology and a professor at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN), based at the Concarneau marine biology station. From 2013 to 2023, she headed the Concarneau station, becoming the first woman in France to lead a marine station.
