Putting pain into words, finding the words, losing them, playing with them…

A gentle encounter with pain. These two authors have very different relationships with mental health: Pauline Bilisari explores private suffering and emotional distress, while Philippa Motte speaks to us about illness, bipolar disorder, and the frightening beauty of madness. We will listen to them discuss their respective relationships with creativity through the lens of mental health, followed by 30 minutes dedicated to your questions. Pauline Bilisari, a young poet, puts her emotional struggles into words in her poems (Ma maison en fleurs) and has also recently published her first young adult novel on the subject (Les astres brilleront toujours). Philippa Motte published Et c’est moi qu’on enferme, in which she looks back on being involuntarily hospitalized in a psychiatric facility at the age of 30. She is now a workplace mental health specialist.
