As part of the “William Klein: Films, etc.” retrospective, this event invites you to a screening of “In and Out of Fashion.”
In and Out of Fashion — 86 minutes, 1993. This film blends excerpts from William Klein’s feature films and documentaries with his photojournalism and fashion photography, costume designs by his wife Jeanne Florin, commercials, and even the first-ever behind-the-scenes footage from the world of haute couture: Yves Saint Laurent’s early days. As is often the case, the title works on several levels: being In or Out means being fashionable or not, of course. But it also reflects Klein’s view of himself: he was both In and Out of fashion, part of it from the inside while feeling completely alien to it. A retrospective and introspective film in which William Klein, in the 1990s, began looking back on and revisiting his career.
Price: €0 to €14.
