Ramona Horvath and Mélissa Lesnie take us back to the golden age of cinema for an afternoon at 38Riv. The Romanian pianist, whose playing is cinematic, polished and glamorous, and the Australian singer, fresh from recording sessions at a legendary Hollywood studio, revisit some of the finest songs from musicals and the Great American Songbook, from Judy Garland to Cole Porter, from 'Singin' in the Rain' to 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. This close-knit duo strips away the glitter from these standards, leaving only what matters: emotion, swing and thrills (okay, okay, there will still be some glitter). An elegant interlude where the magic of Hollywood unfolds just a few feet away.
