‘Le Grand Soir’ pays tribute to Michel Legrand through his most iconic pieces, reimagined by six musicians with original arrangements blending jazz and the spirit of musical theatre.
Composer, arranger, leading figure of the Nouvelle Vague and conqueror of Hollywood, the genius of Michel Legrand defies categorization. He gave us Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, Un été 42 and L'Affaire Thomas Crown—masterpieces that left their mark on the history of cinema. But above all, he was a jazzman… Michel Legrand never truly left the stage. ‘Le Grand Soir’ pays tribute to him through his most iconic pieces, reimagined by six musicians with original arrangements blending the freedom of jazz and the spirit of musical theatre. Conceived without drums, the ensemble showcases voices, strings and brass, immersing the audience in a warm, intimate sound.
