3:00–3:45 p.m. / Pont Louis-Philippe Micabarre jazz Horton with Stefania Pavan Join us for this new edition of Dance Escape! Warm up on one of Paris’s most beautiful bridges at Stefania Pavan’s XXL jazz barre. A dance teacher specializing in the Horton technique, she focuses on alignment, coordination, and grounding. After an accessible and inclusive warm-up, Stefania will introduce some of the principles of the Horton technique and explore a few fortifications. Guided improvisation sessions will punctuate the class, encouraging sharing, attentiveness to movement, and everyone’s creativity. With this heightened awareness of space and the body, you will be ready to follow Jean Hostache’s eponymous work Dans les clous to musée Carnavalet-Histoire de Paris. 3:45–4:45 p.m. / Pont Louis-Philippe > Musée Carnavalet – Histoire de Paris Dans les clous, by Jean Hostache – Collectif La Grosse Plateforme This roaming performance explores ideas of conformity, freedom, and what it means to be “dans les clous”—to play by the rules—taking the French expression literally and embodying it in its physical form: studded pedestrian crossings. From micadanses to Musée Carnavalet-Histoire de Paris, it offers a social and poetic interpretation of the city by questioning how it is inhabited and experienced. But what does it mean to “play by the rules”? What place is reserved for those on the margins? Like creatures spawned by the city, the seven performers explore other ways of inhabiting the world. They sow silence amid the din and awaken poetry in the gaps between the ordinary. Within the flow of everyday life, they disrupt reality to bring invisible worlds to light. In the heart of the Marais, follow us to the main courtyard of musée Carnavalet-Histoire de Paris for a finale combining bodies and voices. ▶︎ Free and open to everyone.
