The 2nd Social Connection Summer School: “When AI speeds everything up… except human connection” — A four-day event in Paris exploring the crisis in human relationships in the age of artificial intelligence and reimagining collective life.
2nd Social Connection Summer School When AI speeds everything up… except human connection. August 24–27, 2026 — Paris What if the defining challenge of our time were not technological… but relational? While artificial intelligence is transforming our jobs, organizations, and lives at unprecedented speed, another reality is advancing more quietly: the weakening of social bonds. 55% of employees say they regularly spend an entire day without interacting with a colleague (2026 HR Barometer, United Heroes/Opinion Way). Only 7% of French employees say they are genuinely engaged at work. Workplace conflict costs €152 billion annually. At the same time, organizations are adopting ever more optimization tools, led by generative AI. We have never been so connected. And so alone at work. For the first time, this issue is also emerging as a major theme in the next presidential election, Le Parisien noted in its May 26 edition. Social connection is no longer a “nice-to-have.” It is becoming a strategic, democratic, and economic capability. But how can we rebuild a sense of community in a world saturated with screens, automation, and superficial exchanges? How can we rebuild society when everything is accelerating… except our ability to connect and create a shared society? This is the question we will explore at the 2nd Social Connection Summer School organized by maison de la Conversation. Over four days, we will bring together those who believe that social connection must once again become a central concern: HR decision-makers, executives and managers, communications leaders, engagement leaders, researchers, nonprofit organizations, and public-sector stakeholders, through a program designed as a progression: - Understand and experience social connection (Day 1) - Identify practical levers within organizations (Day 2) - Work as a team on your own priorities for the new season (Day 3) - Broaden the discussion to society as a whole (Day 4) Guided by one conviction: social connection does not happen by itself; it must be built. The week’s program August 24 & 25 — Two professional days Social connection & AI: moving from intuition to action Two immersive days designed as a progression from awareness to practical commitment. Day 1 — Understand and experience An experiential journey into what “building connections” means in 2026 We begin with a philosophical workshop to develop a shared intention around what “creating social connection” truly means in 2026. Then, through five original immersive experiences, we will take part in unexpected formats designed to build intimacy and trust in one hour. The day concludes with the collective lessons drawn from our conversations. Day 2 — Think, decide, and act The morning: keynotes and interactions with speakers who have implemented concrete initiatives. In the afternoon, we switch to action-research mode to explore “how can we create social connection in 2026?” with one goal: to identify the seven priority initiatives together, then develop your own action plan in a mastermind format — everyone leaves knowing what they will implement when they return to work. AI will not replace conversation. It will help reveal blind spots, synthesize ideas, and amplify the group’s collective intelligence. You will leave with: - an embodied understanding of AI’s impact on social connection - practical tools for your organization, - meaningful new connections, - and the collective white paper from the 2026 Summer School. August 26 — Team & organization workshops Turning the experience into concrete decisions After two days of experiences, encounters, and collaborative work, a half-day dedicated to teams, with a dedicated space and facilitator, to continue the momentum through a focused format: - Vision for the new season - Team cohesion - AI & the transformation of work - Employee engagement - Strategic conversations - Collective alignment For organizations that want to set aside time for strategic work and think together before September’s pace picks up again. The goal? Turn the lessons from August 24 and 25 into concrete decisions for your team. ⚠️ Only 6 workshops available. August 27 — “La Fraternelle” A public half-day organized by Labo de la Fraternité Because social connection concerns not only organizations, but society as a whole.
