This special session is designed to introduce you to R4T and our classes, which you can then join for the year or semester if you enjoy it. The introductory session is free, but registration is required.
What is Rock 4 Temps? Rock 4 Temps is a partner dance. It is a “social” dance, meaning it is mainly danced at social events where anyone can dance with anyone else: simply ask someone to dance, and the two partners improvise together. Rock 4 Temps is an accessible dance performed to a wide range of music (pop, rock, R&B, country, rap, electro), keeping up with the latest popular music! Who is this class for? Everyone! Whether you have already danced Rock 4 Temps and want to revisit the basics with us (or learn the other role!), have experience with other dances and want to discover Rock 4 Temps, or have never danced in your life—even (and especially) if you think dancing is not for you and you have two left feet—come and give it a try, and perhaps discover a new passion! What are the goals of our weekly beginner classes? This class aims to teach you the fundamentals of partner dancing (how two partners communicate movement without speaking) and introduce you to the unique features of R4T. Our goal is to quickly equip you with enough moves to attend social dance events and start having fun! Each one-hour class (7:30–8:30 p.m.) is therefore followed by half an hour of open practice (8:30–9 p.m.). Our instructors will introduce you to this world and regularly share information about the social dances, workshops, and festivals that fill the dance calendar throughout the year. Our teaching values: At Fusion 4 Temps, we present social dancing as a dialogue in which both partners can suggest ideas and express their personalities. We are committed to providing active, high-quality instruction for both roles. Our teaching method is based on technical principles: we focus more on understanding how the dance works than on memorizing a catalog of moves. We believe this is the best way both to start having fun quickly and to learn by building solid foundations, allowing you to progress and go as far as possible!
Price: The workshop is free, but you must register at least 2 hours before it begins to participate. To register, simply select a "Pré-inscription - Cours débutant" ticket through our online ticketing service. Pre-registration entitles you to a trial class on September 10 or another Thursday in September.
