À propos

A tribute to the elusive, avant-garde genius of Erik Satie through a musical dialogue bringing together his works, those of Philip Glass, and my own compositions.

Born in Argentina, Silas Bassa gave his first public piano concerts before even entering the Conservatoire de Buenos Aires. He then moved to Europe to complete his training, where he forged an innovative path as a pianist and composer. His concerts in Europe and the Americas (North and South), along with his recordings, quickly earned critical acclaim for his distinctive musical world—both thoroughly contemporary and resolutely timeless, by turns meditative and impassioned: “A wave of emotion,” “an extraordinary journey,” “a magical interlude,” “a magician of the soul”… Silas’s music is not simply played: it plays us, listening to us in return. Silas Bassa performs with a rare presence: extremely restrained movement, a vibrant stillness, almost self-effacing yet as solid as a standing stone before the keyboard. With no applause between pieces, he sustains a hypnotic continuity that transforms the concert into an enclosed space whose doors open wide onto each listener’s inner world.
