The founder of the All World Waacking Festival at the Grand Palais presents a work that combines unapologetic glamour with an act of resistance.
A choreographer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony and the first Waacking artist ever commissioned by the Opéra de Paris (Roméo et Juliette, directed by Thomas Jolly), Josépha Madoki has established one of the most distinctive choreographic voices in contemporary dance over the past several years. In Haute Couture, she subverts the icy conventions of fashion and transforms them into a choreographic arena: the catwalk becomes a boxing ring and the fashion show a manifesto. Onstage, silhouettes assert themselves, heads turn, and norms are shattered. Bodies are displayed, seen, and reclaimed.
Price: From 35 to 45 euros.
