What if thinking were child’s play? And what if playing couldn’t be more serious?
Ida and Paul discover that they can think, and they are amazed by it. They are two friends, innocent and perhaps a little clownish too. They play with words and thoughts, moving from one surprise to the next, and it fills them with joy. And when there are two of you, thoughts can be shared. They help you move forward and set you free too… It is no coincidence that the title of the play echoes the famous text by the philosopher Pascal; the aim here is to bring major philosophical questions to life with all the seriousness and joy children are capable of. Sylvain Maurice has created a show for two actors and a musician with a simple setup, so that it can be staged anywhere and made accessible to everyone. Through the lively language of Nicolas Doutey, in his first work for young audiences, theatre becomes a space for exploring the here and now… Maïa Bouteillet
