The attic is the perfect place for all kinds of daydreaming… especially when it contains a large magical chest brought to life by sound, from which an astonishing collection of musical instruments emerges: guitars, synthesizers, violin, trumpet, drum machine, saucepan, ping-pong paddle, and corks! In this dark and inspiring space, two mischievous cousins with an uncanny resemblance create their own laboratory of sound and movement—an endless playground for musical experimentation and invention that takes the form of a quirky, playful little orchestra. Blending their two-part electro-acoustic songs—from their band Nicole Nicole—with bold improvisations, Lucien Morineau and Théo Jégat use humor and a palpable rapport to immerse us in the art of composition, drawing on their expertise as composers for film, dance, and live performance.
