For Paris Design Week, Musée Bourdelle presents Contrepoint, an installation by French designer Anthony Guerrée, from September 8 to 27, 2026, within part of its permanent collections.
With Contrepoint, Anthony Guerrée brings sculpture and design into dialogue, much like musical counterpoint. Within Musée Bourdelle, the sculptures already form a silent score composed of presences, empty spaces, and tensions. Anthony Guerrée introduces new forms in wood, glass, textiles, and clay that engage with the existing works without ever imposing themselves. Contrepoint offers an immersive look into the creative process of a contemporary designer. The installation explores possible connections between sculpture and design, placing Anthony Guerrée’s various material and formal investigations in dialogue with Bourdelle’s visual world. His creations establish a subtle conversation with its forms, rhythms, and relationship to materials. Contrepoint presents design as a sculptural practice. The objects appear in various forms: fragments, molds, prototypes, and finished pieces. Visitors are invited to enter a space of exploration where materials, forms, and gestures engage with the spirit of the place.
