Information: [email protected] What is aikido? It is a Japanese martial art founded in the 1930s. It includes unarmed techniques designed to neutralize a partner by bringing them to the ground or immobilizing them. Accessible to everyone, aikido develops physical qualities (flexibility, reflexes, agility) as well as personal values (self-control, integrity toward oneself and one's partners, nonviolence). For children, aikido promotes educational values such as respect and discipline by working on posture and movement coordination. As a noncompetitive discipline, aikido emphasizes individual development, both personally and in relation to one's partners. Paris Aïkido Club Founded in 1969, Paris Aïkido Club welcomes practitioners from all backgrounds. Its five instructors are experienced practitioners recognized for their technical skill and teaching ability. The club has helped many of its members achieve black belt level (and beyond), several of whom now teach at their own clubs. Above all, it is a club that values diverse approaches and people. Introduction and discovery week The aim of the week is to discover aikido in a friendly atmosphere. Alongside the instructors, club members will be there to guide you through your first steps on the tatami. The sessions build progressively throughout the week, but you may also attend only part of this introductory course.
