Pianist Ramona Horvath and saxophonist Lisa Cat-Berro bring their musical worlds together in a new quartet performing a repertoire dedicated to the great women composers in jazz history, who long remained in the shadows or received too little recognition. Through works by Mary Lou Williams, Ann Ronell, Carla Bley, Maria Grever, Kay Swift, and other major figures, the quartet pays tribute to these creators who profoundly shaped the history of music. The program also features original compositions by Ramona Horvath and Lisa Cat-Berro, creating a natural dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. Driven by four musicians with distinctive personalities, this evolving ensemble explores a meeting place where their sensibilities respond to, intertwine with, and enrich one another. Blending lyricism, freedom, chemistry, and improvisation, each concert becomes a living experience shaped by attentive listening and inspiration in the moment.
