Jazz fusion — On his 10th album, Eric Séva pays tribute to his musical roots, blending jazz, blues, and popular French songs through captivating improvisation.
After releasing nine albums as a bandleader, all unanimously acclaimed by the press, Eric Séva pays tribute on this 10th album to his musical roots in jazz, blues, and popular French music. These influences continue to inspire his artistic curiosity, guided by the common threads of improvisation and interplay. Using a distinctive array of instruments, he will compose and arrange a new repertoire featuring original compositions and several covers—musical “Proustian madeleines.” While Eric has always favored jazz and improvisation throughout his career, it is precisely because cultural fusion and freedom lie at their very core, making him an artist of a different stripe, shaped by diversity and encounters. It comes as no surprise, then, that words such as intersection, crossroads, and fusion run through his projects and scores. Line-up: Eric Séva: saxophone; Christophe Cravero: piano; Charlotte Isenmann: flute; Elvire Jouve: drums. 38Riv Jazz Club is an intimate venue in the heart of the Marais (38 rue de Rivoli, Paris 4e), dedicated to jazz and improvised music.
