The documentary film "Les gens d'ici" explores the Paris of small businesses and neighborhood life. The film will be screened in a subtitled version for the first time, followed by a discussion with Sébastien Rastoix (co-director with William Denayre)
in the presence of LSF/FR interpreters Synopsis: Michel, Jeannine, Fanfan, Rustem, and Eliane each run a small business in Paris and share a deep attachment to their neighborhood and its residents, as well as an almost romantic relationship with their work. Hair salon, haberdashery, restaurant, bookstore: these small businesses, while not exactly "profitable," bring life to their neighborhoods and provide spaces for advice and conversation. As privileged observers of the social and architectural transformations of their neighborhoods, they embody a Paris that is now disappearing. Technical details: 16:9 HD format Running time: 52 min French subtitles Directed by: Sébastien Rastoix and William Denayre Music: Alexandre Bellando Sound mixing: Fréderic Maronnier
