Benjamin AUFFRAY began playing music at the age of 5. After studying violin at the Conservatoire de NANTES for 9 years, he earned his Certificate of Completion from the conservatoire de Lons le Saunier in 2004.
It was then that he discovered adapted holidays for people with disabilities. For several years, he was part of a company producing musical tales, performed his creations in the streets, and worked in care and recreational activities. NO MONARK is his first solo project after 15 years of making music and writing as part of a group, featuring raw psychological honesty and the expression of powerful emotions. Because talking about yourself is sometimes the best way to speak to others without pretense. A shared geometry built around loops where music and lyrics intersect. This is NO MONARK’s ambition: to describe his vision of the world through poetic writing set against a rap foundation, with songs woven into it all, of course, as they have long been a source of inspiration. Shyness, humor, beauty, a generous dose of melancholy, and a little anger—because that is how our artist experiences the world, and that is the story he wants to tell.
