Over 12 days, the festival offers a rich and varied program featuring carte blanche selections, tributes, an exhibition, concerts, and discoveries of all kinds.
Our civilization is going through a turbulent period, marked by great confusion and growing mutual misunderstanding. This is sure to inspire filmmakers around the world, resulting—to our great delight—in a rare array of diverse choices and offerings. This year, the International Feature and Short Film Competitions and the New Talents section present their most cosmopolitan selections yet, and we could not be happier. Amid all this commotion, it seemed fitting to offer our traditional Carte Blanche selections to three artists with strong, distinctive tastes. Rebeka Warrior, Anna Mouglalis, and illustrator Philippe Vuillemin rise brilliantly to the challenge. One year after Barbara Steele’s unforgettable visit to our venue, it is now the divine Ornella Muti’s turn to share memories from her remarkable career. One of this edition’s highlights will be a conversation hosted by Bertrand Mandico himself. Equally promising is the 20th anniversary of Potemkine, one of France’s most exciting publishers, which is granting us the rare privilege of watching the legendary climax of Twin Peaks’ final season on the big screen: the famous episode 8… Ever faithful, our dear Christophe Bier and Serge Bromberg continue their tireless hunt for cinematic treasures from around the world. Some extraordinary surprises await you this year—and world exclusives, no less! After all these years, we know one thing for certain: you always want more. With the INA Fantastica 4! series, we continue our thrilling exploration of unusual gems from L’INA through its archive service, while Pépites once again presents some of the finest recent restorations.
