The Paris Music Library opens its doors to the women who bring the world's most emblematic female mariachis to life. At the helm of their ensembles, they will share their leadership experience, the challenges they have overcome, and the paths they have forged to make their voices heard on the world's greatest international stages.
As part of the Women Mariachi Europe Festival 2026, the Paris Music Library – Christiane Eda-Pierre will host the directors of six of the seven ensembles performing at the festival that same weekend. They will share their journeys, their experiences, and the realities of creating, organizing, and leading a group of women in a field still largely dominated by men. They will also discuss their vision for the future of female mariachi and the transformations they wish to see emerge. With simultaneous translation into French, this meeting will offer the audience the opportunity to witness a passionate conversation about the international music industry, the transmission of traditions, and the need to challenge conventions to create fairer, more inclusive, and joyful spaces for everyone. The round table will be led and accompanied by international journalist Sofia Viramontes and by Alicia Leos, creator of the Women Mariachi Europe Festival and also founder and leader of the French female mariachi ensemble ArrieraSomos. Finally, visitors will be able to take advantage of the resources and documents made available to them by the Paris Music Library – Christiane Eda-Pierre to extend this discovery and immerse themselves further in the world of Mexican ranchera music.
