Dive into the blue world of cyanotype, an early photographic process, during a 3-hour workshop with Caroline Gaume, a visual artist and photographer.

CYANOTYPE is a very old monochrome photographic process that produces a beautiful Prussian blue and requires no camera. It works with UV light, either from the sun or a UV exposure unit. The paper is coated with a photosensitive mixture of potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate. This is initially done away from direct sunlight. Plant materials, for example, or pre-cut shapes are then arranged on the sheet, which is exposed to the sun for a number of minutes depending on the amount of sunlight that day, before being rinsed to reveal the image. This is called a photogram because no camera is used. However, a photographic negative can also be used. During this workshop, I suggest trying both techniques: a photogram and a cyanotype made from a photographic negative. Cyanotype is beautiful and a little magical! - Materials provided - Times: 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Everyone should bring a few flowers, leaves, and other shapes of their choice (lace, a small object, etc.) - To prepare your negative, you will need to send me a photo a few days before the workshop. Don’t forget to contact me. The workshop takes place at ateliers du Point bleu in Paris 20 (near Métro Maraîchers, Nation) Cost: €65 - €55 (members) Booking required; places are limited. Minimum 3 participants.

Price: €65 for non-members, €55 for members. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult
