The MEP invites you to tour the Martine Dawson — Faultlines exhibition in the Studio space, with the artist and exhibition curator Laurie Hurwitz. A book signing will take place in the bookshop from 6:30 p.m.
This event gives visitors the opportunity to speak directly with Martine Dawson and discover her work on display at the MEP Studio. Stemming from a research project supported by a Cnap grant, the Faultlines exhibition brings together a photographic series focusing on the homes of Butte, a former mining town in Montana, where domestic spaces retain traces of a landscape shaped by copper mining and the mythology of the American West. Through photographs of interiors, exteriors, and details of everyday life, Martine Dawson explores the connections between place, memory, and home. Combining contemporary images with archival material, the exhibition reveals the home as a repository of memory where different eras and narratives overlap.
