Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Ave Maria and Famous Concertos Orchestre Hélios Solo violin: Glen Rouxel Programme: Mozart's “Divertimento in D major, K. 136,” Sarasate's “Gypsy Airs,” “Winter” from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bizet's “Carmen,” arranged by Sarasate, Puccini's “Crisantemi,” Strauss's “Pizzicato Polka,” Debussy's “Clair de Lune,” Vitali's “Chaconne,” Wieniawski's “Légende,” Caccini's “Ave Maria,” and Pachelbel's “Canon.” Dynamic and eclectic, Orchestre Hélios has established itself as a leading ensemble since it was founded in 2014. Its artistic director, Paul Savalle, helps young musicians launch their professional careers through orchestral experience. Recent graduates therefore perform alongside orchestral musicians, conductors and experienced soloists under optimal working conditions. From Baroque to contemporary music, its programmes are varied and its repertoire encompasses both symphonic and choral works, with the orchestra partnering with departmental and regional choirs. By collaborating with different conductors, the musicians explore an exceptionally rich repertoire while broadening their interpretive range. They are all graduates of France's leading conservatories, and some belong to a national orchestra. From string quartets and brass ensembles to the full symphony orchestra, the ensemble continually expands its audience by adapting its line-up. Its string ensemble performs in Paris's most prestigious churches, giving audiences the opportunity to discover the city's rich architectural heritage. Its flexible line-up allows Orchestre Hélios to approach a remarkably broad repertoire with passionate curiosity.
