Le Grand Rassemblement des Veilleurs was conceived to explore the legacy of the unique and monumental work Le Cycle des Veilleurs (2021 – 2025), created for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Cultural Olympiad. This unifying event is presented by micadanses and Paris Réseau Danse, both longstanding partners of the company.
For one afternoon, micadanses and the surrounding area will become the setting for a journey combining performances, installations, and audience participation—a time for celebration, learning, and sharing. Le Grand Rassemblement brings together different generations of Veilleur·euses and choreographic artists from the WLDN company, creating a dialogue between memories and experiences, heritage and renewal, while making this choreographic legacy accessible to everyone. The program will include site-specific and participatory performances, an installation featuring photographic, handwritten, and audio records from the project, as well as a walk open to everyone. Audiences will also be able to attend the premiere of Jérémy Tran’s documentary about Le Cycle des Veilleurs. Joanne Leighton will create a new version of Traces , featuring an original musical composition by Peter Crosbie and performed by an intergenerational group of ten dancers, bringing together longtime company artists and a new generation of performers.
