For one evening, put your phone aside and rediscover the pleasure of being fully present—with yourself, with others, and with art. Open exceptionally late, the museum invites you to explore its studios, collections, and gardens for an evening devoted to contemplation, reading, creativity, and connection. This edition will feature vocals and Carnatic music by Emmanuelle Martin. Rooted in the musical tradition of southern Inde, this subtle music weaves a constant dialogue between composition and improvisation, inviting deep listening and an inner journey. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: a break from notifications When you arrive, you can leave your phone in a secure box provided for this purpose, or simply keep it switched off. Free from digital distractions, take your time wandering through the museum’s gardens, studios, and galleries. Read, write, draw, observe the artworks, meditate, or simply surrender to the atmosphere of the space: everyone can shape the evening at their own pace. Feel free to bring your notebook or drawing supplies. Several activities await you: • Carnatic vocals and music by Emmanuelle Martin Let the spellbinding sounds of traditional southern Inde music carry you away in the plaster cast hall. • Meditative mandalas Take a moment to center yourself by coloring a mandala inspired by Bourdelle’s world. • Cyanotype workshop Gather a few leaves from the museum gardens, then discover the cyanotype photographic process and create a poetic botanical print. • Reading corner Make yourself comfortable and lose yourself in one of the books provided by the Marguerite Yourcenar media library. From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.: extend the experience Join the other participants at the museum’s café-restaurant, Le Rhodia, for a friendly gathering. Share your impressions, discoveries, and creations in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Practical information Phones may be placed in secure boxes when you arrive or kept switched off in your bag or pocket. Remember to bring something to read, write, or draw with, or your camera if you wish. Please bring a means of payment for your time at the café-restaurant. Emmanuelle Martin Emmanuelle Martin is now a leading figure in France and Europe in the field of traditional classical and sacred music from southern Inde: Carnatic music. She spent 10 years on a true journey of discovery in Chennai, Inde, devoting herself to studying this music under one of the tradition’s greatest masters, Shri T.M Krishna. Since returning to France in 2014, she has traveled between Inde, Europe, and the Etats-Unis, performing concerts, sharing this art, and continuing her own practice. In January 2016, she joined Ariane Mnouchkine and the Théâtre du Soleil company to train the actors in Carnatic vocals and music for their production “Une Chambre en Inde”. In 2021, she joined the teaching staff at the C.R.D de Gennevilliers (92), where she teaches Carnatic vocals and music through monthly masterclasses and lectures. She also works with the music theory teachers on an educational approach that connects oral tradition with written notation.
