As part of the Bicentenary of Photography, Espace Le Carré has invited Lille-based artist Hideyuki Ishibashi to present the exhibition The Celestial Sky. It immerses us in a dialogue across time and space between two men separated by a century: August Strindberg, the Swedish playwright, scientist and photographer, and Hideyuki Ishibashi, haunted by his research. One hundred years later, Hideyuki Ishibashi follows in Strindberg’s footsteps. From an imaginary correspondence between the two men emerge prints made from moon dust, silver images that have captured the sun, and galaxies of stars. This exhibition traces an alternative history of photography, blurring the line between archives and visions. Curated by Hideyuki Ishibashi and Lucie Ménard
