Conference postponed to a later date The University of Montpellier holds in four of its original transport crates marked with the Nazi eagle one of the few known Soldatenbücherei today. This curious library, which houses several hundred books for entertainment and leisure - but compliant with the regime - and a few volumes of Nazi propaganda, allows us to imagine the soldiers who, returning from their grim tasks, take a moment for peaceful reading. A conference by Matthieu Desachy. Paleographer archivist, doctor in medieval history, general curator of libraries, director of the Méjanes library and the Archives of the city of Aix-en-Provence. In connection with the exhibition "Living the War in Hérault, 1939-1945" presented at Pierresvives from November 20, 2025, to May 9, 2026. Free entry. Open to all.
Event from the official agenda of Montpellier; location: Montpellier Tourist Office; address: Domaine départemental Pierresvives, 34000, Montpellier.
