Improvised dubbing of film clips by LA POULE, a professional improv company. 4 microphones and several film clips: the mission of the 4 dubbers from Petit Détournement is to recreate live dialogue over footage from recent films, classics, action or arthouse movies, mainstream or genre films… Le Petit Détournement is inspired by the success of its illustrious predecessor: Le Grand Détournement, a French TV movie written and directed in 1993 by Michel Hazanavicius and Dominique Mézerette, telling the invented life of John Wayne, renamed Georges Abitbol, "the classiest man in the world." With one notable difference: whereas all the dialogue in that TV movie had been written in advance, our 4 dubbers from Petit Détournement will have to pull off the feat of reinventing dialogue in a completely improvised way.
