These myths guide us through the waves of the world and the turbulence of our realities. Tonight, they awaken, carried by one melody reflecting another. On stage, singer, harpist and actress Aliénor De Georges brings Ovid’s Metamorphoses to life with her electric harp and spellbinding voice, weaving together original compositions and fresh interpretations spanning pop, jazz, rock, French music and classical music, each echoing the stories with which it is entwined. From Daphne turning into a laurel tree to Narcissus merging with the water, from the Phoenix rising from its ashes to Orpheus descending into the Underworld, each myth finds its own musical color, breath and voice. These metamorphoses, at once so distant and so deeply human, resonate like mirrors held up to our own transformations. Somewhere between a concert and an embodied reading, The Song of Metamorphoses reminds us that nothing perishes: everything changes, everything is renewed, and everything can be sung.
