With more than 200,000 trees planted along its streets, in green spaces, and on municipal properties—not to mention the more than 300,000 trees in the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes—Paris is one of Europe’s greenest capitals. A further 170,000 trees are set to be planted by 2026, reflecting the vital role trees play in tackling climate change. Some stand out for their imposing size, great age, picturesque shape, or the rarity of their species. Nearly 200 trees across Paris are officially designated as remarkable.
