After four widely acclaimed editions that drew crowds from well beyond the neighborhood, the fifth edition of the Septembre Indien festival is just around the corner. It will take place on Saturday, September 19, from noon to midnight, and Sunday, September 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on place Maurice Chevalier, between Belleville and Ménilmontant, in Paris's 20th arrondissement. The festival is entirely volunteer-run and admission is completely free. Around twenty artists spanning an eclectic range of musical styles will perform on three stages surrounding a square beloved by Parisians: place Maurice Chevalier, opposite the Notre-Dame de la Croix church. Rock, pop, rap, French chanson, reggae, dub, samba, choirs…. Alongside the concerts, the village of stalls will also feature socially and locally engaged organizations, local creators, a children's stand, and decorations by neighborhood schools… Plus the fabulous Septembre Indien team bar, serving proper pints. And not forgetting two essential technical partners handling the sound: ENS Louis-Lumière and BTS Audiovisuel Jacques Prévert.
