Although the heritage collection is open year-round to researchers, curious visitors, and children alike, this year, for Heritage Days, come and discover some gems from our collection of youth photobooks as part of the bicentenary of photography
The Heure Joyeuse heritage collection holds 3,000 photo-illustrated children’s books. Exhibited in 2012 at the galerie des bibliothèques, it will once again take center stage in 2027 at the médiathèque Françoise Sagan, in an exhibition devoted to photographic picture books. Over the course of one weekend, two selections will be available to explore throughout Saturday and Sunday: - at the hôtel de Ville de Paris in salon Laurens, alongside the other heritage and specialist libraries. The selected works explore the concept of framing through an international panorama. They demonstrate the enduring vitality of photography as a means of educating the eye and shaping how we see the world, whether through the recognition of shapes or the use of blur, in works by renowned photographers such as Sarah Moon, Bogdan Konopka, and Gérard Rondeau (Agence Vu'). -at the médiathèque Françoise Sagan, on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., librarians will present a continuous display of other gems from the youth photobook collection, including contemporary and historic editions as well as artists’ books.
