To mark the FIFA World Cup, Achetez de l'Art ventures beyond the world of comics to present SPORTS ART , an exhibition exploring artistic representations of sport through a dialogue between photography and illustration. Sport has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists: the tension of a body at full exertion, the precision of a decisive move, the intensity of a focused gaze moments before the action. These are fragments of time suspended, which the works brought together in this exhibition seek to capture and convey. On the one hand, photography immortalizes the moment with unique documentary power. On the other, illustration breaks free from reality to reinterpret movement and athletic energy through distinctive visual worlds. Two complementary perspectives celebrating the power of sport in all its forms. Organized in partnership with Galerie Jean-Denis Walter (Gallery of Sports Art), a leading name in the artistic representation of the sporting world, this exhibition brings together works by renowned photographers such as Alexis Berg, Ian Bradshaw, Gerry Cranham, Corinne Dubreuil, Elisa Haberer, Nicolas Luttiau, Stéphane Meunier, John Vink and Charlotte Wilson, alongside gallery artists, each offering their own vision of sport. A highlight of this edition is an exceptional selection of photographs from the Les yeux dans les Bleus documentary, immersing visitors in the inner world of the France national team. Moments of camaraderie before kick-off, scenes in the locker room, the intensity of the matches, and the shared celebrations following victories come together in this unique account of the World Cup. Football, tennis, rugby and many other sports are represented. Beyond the diversity of the sports themselves, all these works tell the same story: one of pushing beyond your limits, solidarity, passion and collective emotion. They capture those moments when time seems to stand still, on the field and in the stands, as the whole world holds its breath. SPORTS ART is therefore a tribute to sport in all its human dimensions. It celebrates movement and performance, as well as the sense of sharing and the emotions sport inspires—emotions capable of uniting supporters, generations and nations around a shared passion.
