À propos

To mark the publication of What I Saw at Auschwitz: Alter’s Notebooks, presented by Roger Fajnzylberg in collaboration with Alban Perrin, Points, 2026, and What I Saw at Auschwitz: Alter’s Notebooks by Victor Matet, Jean‑David Morvan and Rafael Ortiz, Dupuis, 2026.

In 2025, Roger Fajnzylberg published his father Alter Fajnzylberg’s notebooks with Seuil. Written in Polish in the aftermath of the war, they recount his experience as a member of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The book achieved remarkable popular and critical success for a work of history. Roger Fajnzylberg and Alban Perrin traveled across France to present it to a wide range of audiences. One year later, the book was released in paperback and adapted into a graphic novel. This event will explore Alter’s story in detail, as well as the extraordinary publishing journey of his notebooks, which lay hidden in a shoebox for nearly 80 years. Featuring the authors of the book and the graphic novel. Moderated by journalist Eduardo Castillo. With the support of the Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah. BOOK

Price: €3 to €5
