À propos

Celebrating more than 30 years of collecting, the exhibition pays tribute to Sir Elton John and David Furnish’s passion for photography, reflecting both their personal taste and their unique perspective as collectors. Selected from their collection of more than 7,000 images, the photographs on display are iconic works that explore the connection between the strength and vulnerability inherent in the human condition.

Tracing the history of modern and contemporary photography, the exhibition brings together an outstanding selection of the world’s most important photographers, with works dating from 1950 to the present day. Adapted from the exhibition presented at the Victoria and Albert Museum between May 2024 and January 2025, it explores subjects such as desire, fashion, celebrity, the assertion of identity, and photojournalism across five thematic sections. Featured artists include Robert Mapplethorpe, Harley Weir, Irving Penn, Diane Arbus, Ai Weiwei, Herbert List, and many others, alongside a monumental installation of 149 Nan Goldin prints from her Thanksgiving series. Warning: some of the photographs presented in this exhibition contain material that may be disturbing to visitors, particularly younger audiences. “Like writing a song, taking a photograph involves a little luck and chance—something happens at just the right moment, and you have to be smart enough to press the shutter.” Sir Elton John,

Admission: From 0 to 14 euros.
