Free first aid training sessions near you!

World First Aid Day is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and learning life-saving techniques. Organized every year in September, this day aims to promote the importance of first aid in accident prevention and risk reduction in case of emergency. It mobilizes numerous humanitarian, health and rescue organizations around the world to encourage public training in first aid techniques. World First Aid Day was established in 2000 by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). This initiative is part of the organization's humanitarian mission, which has worked since its creation to spread knowledge about emergency rescue. Since then, this day has been celebrated every year in many countries, with educational activities and awareness campaigns.

Program

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training: Free workshops on essential first aid techniques, particularly in case of cardiac arrest, will be offered to the public. These sessions will allow participants to learn how to handle cardiac emergencies and become familiar with the use of automated external defibrillators.

Prevention and First Aid Training for Children: Raising awareness from an early age is an essential step in training future citizen-rescuers. This workshop, designed for children aged 3 to 10, will allow them to learn simple and useful everyday reflexes, particularly regarding prevention of domestic hazards and first aid.

Tour of an Emergency Response Vehicle: This activity will offer the public, particularly young people, the opportunity to discover the interior of an emergency vehicle in a safe and educational setting. Presented by passionate rescue workers, this tour will help visitors better understand the role of onboard equipment and how rescue operations work.

Information Booth: This space will be dedicated to presenting the various missions of the French Red Cross as well as volunteer engagement. Participants will be able to discover all the activities conducted locally in the areas of first aid training, emergency response and rescue work, social action, mental health and support for vulnerable populations.

Let's Check Your Vital Signs: This activity will introduce participants to one of the essential steps in rescue care: conducting an assessment. Through an immersive and educational scenario, the public will understand how rescue workers identify life-threatening emergencies, assess a victim's condition and gather the information necessary for appropriate care.

Demonstrations: Educational demonstrations will also be offered two or three times during the day to showcase different techniques used in rescue operations. Paris firefighters will be there to present their Emergency Response and Victim Assistance Vehicles and showcase their complementary Victim Assistance equipment (stab-proof vests, Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological materials related to emergency response...).
