In conjunction with the “La photographie en toutes lettres” exhibition, the library welcomes David Fourré, founder and publisher of “lamaindonne” and a member of France PhotoBook, the association that brings together French photo book publishers.
Based in Aveyron, David Fourré has worked in publishing and graphic design for more than twenty years. Passionate about photography, he launched lamaindonne publishing house in 2011. His talent has been recognized with, among other honors, two Prix Nadar – Gens d’images awards: in 2022 for Siempre Que by Céline Croze, and in 2025 for Aux ombres, by Simon Vansteenwinckel. He also won the 2019 HiP Award in the “Publisher of the Year” category. How does a photo book come to life, from the initial idea through the various stages of creation and the challenges of production, all the way to distribution in bookstores? What path has his career taken, and how has he seen the profession evolve? Which books and magazines have inspired him? The library’s talks take place in the reading room. This is a unique opportunity to talk with a key figure in photography while browsing a selection of books freely available for consultation. As always, the discussion will be open and audience participation encouraged. Discover the publications of lamaindonne.
