Particular conditions of practice: Teachers are placed under the responsibility of the head of the establishment where they work and are subject to their authority and the school's internal regulations. In the context of their duties, the employee is required to comply with the same obligations as permanent civil service employees, the principle of secularism, respect for individuals, and must behave ethically and responsibly. The employee will be supported in taking up their position by the head of establishment and inspection bodies to facilitate their professional adaptation. They may benefit from mentoring and training. Contract teachers build valuable professional experience, which can benefit them if they wish to access permanent civil servant status through competition. Indeed, after accumulating three years of public service, subject to meeting all conditions, they can access internal teaching recruitment competitions (excluding agrégation). They can also, subject to meeting the necessary conditions, apply for external competitions.
