Job Description: Main Mission Attached to the Purchasing Department, the Import Purchasing Assistant ensures the administrative and operational follow-up of purchases made from suppliers located in Asia (especially China) and Europe. They support buyers in order management and follow-up, coordinate exchanges with suppliers, ensure deadline compliance and participate in supply chain security.
Main Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship Management
- Be the daily point of contact for suppliers and factories in China.
- Ensure commercial and administrative exchanges in Mandarin.
- Maintain a trusting relationship with partners.
Order and Supply Follow-up
- Ensure order follow-up until shipment.
- Follow up with suppliers to guarantee deadline compliance.
- Anticipate delays and propose solutions in coordination with buyers.
Quality Follow-up
- Ensure production follow-up with suppliers.
- Participate in handling non-conformities.
- Ensure proper application of quality requirements.
Reporting
- Update Purchasing dashboards.
- Monitor performance indicators (deadlines, quality, costs).
- Prepare reports for the Purchasing Manager.
- Participate in continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
Desired Profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in international purchasing or imports with China or Asia.
- Good knowledge of Chinese culture and business practices (mandatory).
Essential Skills
Languages
- Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written): mandatory.
- Fluent French.
- Professional English essential. The candidate must be able to manage daily exchanges with Chinese suppliers, participate in negotiations and ensure fluent communication without the need for an interpreter.
