Rendez-vous aux jardins 2026: The Five Senses in the Garden – Sight Published on May 28, 2026 - Service Public / Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister's Office)

The 23rd edition of the Rendez-vous aux jardins will take place on June 5, 6, and 7, 2026. Throughout France, hundreds of public and private gardens will open their doors during these three days. This year's event focuses on the theme "The Five Senses in the Garden: Sight." Discover the program!

Add to my calendar At the heart of this 23rd edition, sight will be celebrated through the figurative representation of parks and gardens across the centuries, as seen in engravings, paintings, and other drawings.

The Ministry of Culture invites you to visit 2,800 parks and gardens in France and approximately 650 gardens across 20 other European countries. On this occasion, many professionals (gardeners, owners, landscape architects, botanists, guides, etc.) will share their passion for gardens and their expertise with visitors.

For over 20 years, the Rendez-vous aux jardins have been sponsored by the Ministry of Culture to help people discover exceptional parks and gardens throughout the country.

The event also gained a European dimension in 2018 during the European Year of Cultural Heritage. 650 gardens were opened to the public in about twenty countries (Germany, Andorra, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, etc.).

This festival highlights the efforts of private and public garden owners, as well as the Ministry of Culture, to restore, conserve, maintain, and enhance this heritage.

Discover the complete "Rendez-vous aux jardins" program using a map showing all events by region.

As every year, the first of the three days will be dedicated to school groups: visits will be organized in certain gardens on Friday, June 5, upon prior registration.

Established in 2004, the "Remarkable Garden" label recognizes public or private gardens and parks of cultural, aesthetic, historical, or botanical interest. It is awarded by the Ministry of Culture for a period of 5 years, renewable.
