MAKE FRIENDS (10:00 PM) (Alt indie - Bristol, UK) In 2025, the Bristol-based band Make Friends will release their new single "Hand-Delivered," taken from their EP "How Do You Know?" which will come out later this year. The band formed after being collectively inspired by the early indie-dance-punk of Foals in "Antidotes" and the melodic alternative pop of Bombay Bicycle Club. They continue to bring their original touch to modern indie music, with their first EP forging the fan-favorite track "Ellie," followed by a series of singles and a second EP in 2021. Much of their work was written during the various phases of lockdown, which created a surprisingly creative climate for the band, with lyrics naturally focused on themes of isolation and mental health. To date, the band has received significant support from BBC Introducing in the West, with the singles "Falter" and "Fever" played on Radio 1, leading to Make Friends being selected for a live session at the prestigious Maida Vale studios. With the help of Ed Nash (Bombay Bicycle Club) in production and co-writing, Make Friends began working on their EP "Loaded Fun," released in 2024, and continues to solidify their presence as a leading figure in the British indie scene. The EP received additional support from Radio 6, BBC Introducing, and others, with the single "Maybe Tomorrow" being featured in their best of 2024 and the lead single "Loaded Fun" appearing in the FA Cup roundup on ITV.
