Discover Children's Memories, an immersive exhibition created by Lille-based artist duo Naomi van Niekerk and Arnaud van Vliet
How do we tell the stories that places still carry within them? In residence at La Pouponnière, Naomi van Niekerk and Arnaud van Vliet explored the archives and collected testimonies from former caregivers and children to bring to light a memory that had long remained silent: that of the children who lived and were cared for in this place. Through an immersive installation combining animation, sound creation, and images, created with children from Centre Social Marcel Bertrand and École de Musique de Wazemmes, the artists offer a sensitive experience of childhood where past stories meet today's perspectives. More than an exhibition, Children's Memories invites everyone to reflect on the fragility of existence, on transmission, and on the traces that each life leaves in collective memory. Exhibition opening on Wednesday, October 14 at 6pm
