Historical guided tours of the former Hôpital général de Lille, a true jewel of Lille’s 18th-century hospital heritage, will be led by volunteer guides from the Association du Musée Hospitalier Régional de Lille on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. An architectural symbol of French classicism, its triangular pediment features the sun of King Louis XIV, who annexed Lille to France and established the concept of general hospitals. Built from 1739 onward, the building housed people with disabilities and abandoned children. Featuring a 140-meter façade and formerly situated along the Basse-Deûle, it is now home to the I.A.E., École universitaire de Management Lille-Nord de France.
