Absurd Songs and Free Pulsations

This concert is organized as part of the Muzzix & Associés season, taking place in the Lille metropolitan area from September 18 to October 22, 2026. VÂCarm: Pauline Weidmann (FR) Absurd Songs and Words Piled Up. VÂCarm is a vocal and gestural performance by Lin.e Weidmann, vocalist and dancer, who explores the voice as a moving body. Working from her own texts, the artist develops an improvisation in contact with the spaces, where speech becomes sonic material, gesture, and rhythm. In this solo, words rub against hesitations, exclamations, citations, memories, and everyday conversations. "Hummm," "Ooh la la," fragments of stories, confessions, snippets of traffic or meals compose a living language that builds and undoes itself in the moment. Between speech and music, VÂCarm questions what speaking produces: how language draws out a thought, opens a space for play, brings forth images, and invents a presence. A sensitive and physical performance, where the voice improvises as much as it narrates, where speaking becomes an act as much as a movement. Julien Claire: Julien Desprez & Claire Gapenne Free Pulsations and Sonic Tears The Julien Claire duo brings together two singular personalities from the French experimental scene: guitarist Julien Desprez and electronic artist Claire Gapenne. Both explore territories where improvisation, electronic music, noise, and sound art intersect, in an approach where gesture is as essential as sound. With Julien Desprez, the electric guitar becomes a true field of experimentation. Diverted from its usual uses, it transforms under a physical play where the entire body is engaged. The effect pedals become a space for dance, foot rhythms fully participate in the musical writing, and each movement births raw, electric, and deeply expressive sonic material. Facing him, Claire Gapenne unfolds spontaneous electronics, nourished as much by techno aesthetics as by the most radical noise. Her universe, constructed in real time, shapes incisive textures, unstable pulsations, and soundscapes in constant mutation. Together, they compose music balanced between tension and erasure, where free rhythms, electronic washes, saturations, and silences respond to each other in permanent listening. An immersive performance that summons as much the energy of dance as the intensity of a noise concert, where improvisation becomes the site of a physical and sensible experience.
