À propos

The Halloween Ukulele Festival (HUF) is organized by the Ukulele Club of Montpellier, whose parent association, HISPARAMAC-UKULELE CLUB OF MONTPELLIER, created in 2015, brings together over sixty musician-singers. * Entirely carried forward by volunteers, this festival is above all a human adventure based on personal and collective commitment founded on values of sharing, solidarity, and fraternity. We deeply believe in the social value of a festival designed and created together, promoting meetings, intergenerational exchanges, and social diversity through music. Through selfless musical offerings, the festival encourages an open and benevolent approach. * The ukulele is for us a wonderful vector of social connection and inclusion. Its spread and enthusiasm open up diversity and the discovery of others. It nourishes creativity, collective joy, and well-being. Shared listening, generosity, and artistic curiosity are the values that drive all the members and the organizing team of the Halloween Ukulele Festival #3. * This small instrument, the ukulele, is accessible, friendly, unifying, and brings together enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. Easy to learn, it allows the greatest number to share the pleasure of playing and singing together. Its growth, largely driven by social networks and connections between clubs located in France and around the world, was particularly strengthened during the COVID lockdown periods. The ambition of the Montpellier HUF is to bring together this musical community in order to offer the greatest number of amateur and confirmed artists alike a space for meetings, sharing, and musical expression. The objective is simple: to create connections and give everyone the power to act on the same stage. * The theme "Dia de los muertos" aligns with the festival dates. Mexican Day of the Dead shakes up the codes around mourning. In Mexico, two days of sharing and communion elevate death to the rank of simple passage that is celebrated joyfully. This millennia-old tradition has been recognized since 2008 as part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. A true immersion in a colorful and flowery world, where death allows us to celebrate life. In our turn, let's celebrate life in music with the ukulele! The Montpellier HUF is open to all ukulele enthusiasts, clubs, families, and curious people wishing to discover this musical universe. About thirty French and foreign clubs have already expressed their interest, coming notably from Paris, Marseille, Amiens, Bordeaux, Sète, Montélimar, Nice, Toulouse, Toulon, Rome, Liège and others. • This festival values a musical practice open to all, amateurs and professionals alike, where everyone can become spectator and performer in turn, the stage being accessible to all, regardless of level. Live performance is plural! • For this third edition, the objective is also to promote the participation of foreign clubs through travel assistance... The cost of transportation had previously deprived us of it. the HALLOWEEN UKULELE FESTIVAL is part of a social and environmental responsibility approach by signing the Charter of 15 Commitments, namely: * Reduction of printed materials in favor of social networks and musical processions for the promotion of the Festival * Elimination of single-use plastics, use of ecological dishware, bulk packaging of beverages, water fountains * Waste collection and sorting * Encouragement of carpooling, promotion of travel by bike and public transportation in the city and its surrounding area * Support for short supply chains of the local economic fabric: Breweries and caterers that prioritize local and seasonal products, preparation of food on site (HAPPY FOODING and LA CANTINA by Maraichons at Sablassou).
