From October 17 to 31, the Émile Zola, Federico Garcia Lorca, Victor Hugo (Montpellier), Albert Camus (Clapiers), Jean Giono (Pérols), Françoise Giroud (Castries), Jules Verne (Saint-Jean-de-Védas) and La Gare (Pignan) media libraries will be taking part in the 25th edition of the Animation Film Festival in a thousand and one ways. To mark the occasion, the Émile Zola media library is hosting a “pinscreen” weekend on October 16 and 17 built around Pierre-Luc Granjon, a director with a singular universe. A screenwriter, animator and director, he likes to experiment with different techniques from one film to the next. His latest film Les Bottes de la nuit, which won the Cristal for Best Short Film at the 2025 Annecy Festival, was made with a pinscreen, a very rare animation tool. Pierre-Luc Granjon will attend the screening of his film and, together with Alexandre Noyer, a pinscreen maker, will introduce audiences to this fascinating animation technique.
