The Biodiversity Monitoring Week (BioMonWeek) is the European congress bringing together all experts in biodiversity monitoring for discussions on transnational cooperation and coordination among scales. It will be preceded by an open conference for the general public on the evening of Monday, May 4th. Co-organized by Biodiversa+, Alliance for Nature, BioAgora, GBIF, and MARCO-BOLO, this edition inaugurates a biennial cycle of transformative congresses for the monitoring community. This event will bring together scientific, public policy, and private sector communities to exchange knowledge, build networks, and drive sustainable societal change to help halt the global biodiversity crisis. The formation of this open platform dedicated to the biodiversity monitoring community aims to promote a common culture and understanding in Europe, thereby advancing transnational and cross-sector cooperation.
